John Wooden images
John Wooden speaks in Manhattan Beach in 2007 brought to Manhattan Beach by South Bay Brokers. He spoke to the packed audience at the Journey of Faith church about the Pyramid of Success, poetry and life itself for over an hour at the age of 97. My husband Dave and I had the wonderful opportunity to go backstage before his speech and meet with him by ourselves as everyone else left us alone. He signed some books for our friends and talked to us about his wife and from memory recited some poetry without a moments hesitation. The only thing I wish I had written down the names of the poems he shared with us that night. These photos are two to remember that evening with a legend.

Catching up with Myself
This is a reminder whatever you do everyday please take time to play. I took this photo at sunset on Hermosa Beach and won 2nd in the world. Take a moment to see each child is moving in this image they are swinging, running one is even watching the sunset. See the world through child eyes. Sorry for the delay in keeping up with this blog. My intention was to post images everyday. Well it's been almost a month I am going to add a few today and see how it goes from here. Thanks. These are from Topanga Days over Memorial Day weekend of Ziggy Marley who played the final set on Sunday. I saw his Dad play at the Santa Barbara County Bowl when I was in college which seems like a lifetime ago. During Ziggy's show for a moment I was nineteen once again transported thru time by the amazing quality of the Marley's voices.

Formal living room and hallway.
Much more home than just these photos. I am amazed at the way of life that gives me the opportunity to have the chance to see how so many people live their lives. I'm impressed by the designer's work and his relationship with his clients that created a wonderful atmosphere for family and friends. 5/14/10. 9 am.

Surf n Turf photos
On May 2, Dig 4 Kids and the Jimmy Miller Foundation joined forces for the first ever Surf n' Turf event at the Manhattan Beach Pier. Beautiful day as each participant competed in both the surf contest and then played in the volleyball tournament in the afternoon. On Sunday night Sangria held the awards banquet.
The entire day felt as if we were transported back to the days when everywhere you looked you saw a friendly face and the sun shined especially bright. We had an Olympic Gold medal volleyball player with Eric Fonoimonoa and founder of Dig 4 Kids with his family. The Miller Family, hula dancers and tacos at the beach you can't ask for more than that a great day was had by all.
