On September 11, 2010 the City of Hermosa Beach dedicated a new public bench at the greenbelt and Pier Avenue in honor of the victims of the 9-11 event in New York City.
Police Chaplin Gila Katz who spent three weeks at ground zero in 2001 and is a current Hermosa Beach resident speaks to the crowd regarding the work to build the memorial .
